Portable Storage for Decluttering

Decluttering stalls when there is nowhere to put the things you are not ready to part with. A Steedle portable container fixes that: we set a 16-foot (8×8) box in your driveway and it becomes the staging area for the whole project. Keep goes in the container, donate and sell wait by the garage door, trash goes to the curb, and the rooms inside the house empty out one at a time — without renting a truck or driving anything anywhere.

How you use the container to declutter

1. We drop the 16-foot box at the house. Call for a free estimate, pick a date, and we deliver the clean, dry 16-ft (8×8) container and set it on your driveway. You never tow, hitch, or move the container — Steedle handles every move.
2. You sort room by room: container vs. stay vs. donate. Work at your own pace — one closet, one bedroom, one corner of the basement at a time. Off-season clothes, spare furniture, holiday bins and the boxes that have sat in the garage for years go into the container; what stays goes back on the shelf; what is leaving gets grouped for donation pickup, a buyer, or the curb.
3. The box stays in the drive so you can keep pulling items back out. Because it is parked at your door instead of across town, decisions are reversible: the chair you decided to keep after all, the tools you still need for the punch list, the winter coats when the weather turns. Open the doors whenever you want.
4. When the house is ready, we pick the box up. Keep it on-site as long as you need it, or we haul the loaded container to our West Deptford warehouse at 1152 Crown Point Road and it waits there until you want it delivered back.

What belongs in the box — and what does not

Good candidates: household furniture, mattresses and bed frames, boxed books and kitchenware, clothing and linens, seasonal decorations, sports and hobby gear, patio furniture, tools, and the packed contents of closets, attics, basements and garages — anything you want out of the rooms but still in your hands.

Keep out of the container: anything illegal, plus items no storage unit should hold — flammables and fuel, propane tanks, perishable food, plants and pets. The container also cannot be modified: no shelving bolted in, no cutting, drilling or wiring, no interior changes of any kind. And moving the container is our job — do not tow, shift or reposition it yourself.

On-site or West Deptford: choosing for your declutter timeline

Keep it on-site while the sorting is still in motion — mid-declutter, running a yard sale, waiting on a donation pickup — so you can keep opening the doors and loading on your own schedule.

Send it to our West Deptford warehouse once the loading is done and you want the driveway clear — before listing photos and showings, before an estate sale, or when the house sells and the keepers need somewhere to live until the next place is ready. We move the loaded container to 1152 Crown Point Road, West Deptford, and bring it back whenever you say.

Optional packing and loading

You can load the container yourself at your own pace — most people do — but you do not have to. Packing and loading are available as optional services, which helps when the heavy furniture is more than you want to wrestle, when you are clearing a parent’s home from out of town, or when a listing date is close and the sorting is not finished. Ask about it when you call for your estimate.

$125 a month — call to schedule

Portable storage is $125 per month, and rentals can run short or long term, so a four-week pre-listing push and a six-month sort both work.
