Portable Storage Rentals in Wenonah, NJ
Wenonah is a small borough with a short code, and the only container rule we found is for roll-off dumpsters. Steedle Portable Storage rents 16-foot (8×8) containers for $150 per month, delivered from our yard at 1152 Crown Point Road in West Deptford. We did not find an ordinance that names portable storage containers or PODs, so we keep our containers on private property, and we recommend a call to the Borough Office before delivery. If the driveway will not work, the loaded box can wait at our warehouse. Call (856) 848-4854 for a free estimate. Family-owned since 1918.

What we found in the Wenonah Code
We did not find an ordinance that names portable storage containers or PODs. We read the Borough’s zoning regulations (Article VII), the garbage and refuse chapter, the streets and sidewalks chapter, and the trailers chapter on eCode360, and none of them regulates a rented storage container on a residential lot. Two nearby rules are worth knowing, without stretching either to cover a POD:
- Roll-off dumpsters and containers (Chapter 24, Article II). No one may park or leave unattended a waste or refuse container commonly known as a “roll-off dumpster” or “roll-off container” on or along any highway or public property without the written consent of the Building Subcode Official or Zoning Officer. The consent lasts no more than 30 days, and only as long as needed to complete the work. It can be renewed for good cause. A roll-off on a Borough street must carry yellow reflective diamond panels, 18 by 18 inches, at both ends. Violations carry a fine of up to $100 per violation.
- Trailers (Chapter 63). The trailers chapter deals with vehicles used as conveyances on public streets, including camp cars and trailers, and it limits parking them on streets and premises. Our containers have no wheels or axles and are not vehicles, and we did not find that the chapter applies to them.
The roll-off article is about trash and refuse containers. A storage container holding furniture is not a “waste or refuse container,” but the article shows how the Borough thinks about big boxes in public space: written consent, a time limit, and reflectors. If a box would sit on a street or public property, call the Borough first. On a private driveway we found no permit requirement, but we are not going to promise there is none.
Permit duration and fee for a portable storage unit: none found. Street vs driveway: driveway or private property only, in practice.

A lake-resort borough: check your own driveway
The Borough describes itself as founded in 1871 by Philadelphia businessmen as a country resort along Mantua Creek and the West Jersey Railroad, with dams built over the following decades to create recreational lakes. It maintains the John and Kathy Howard Park at Wenonah Lake. For a container, the useful point is the practical one: look at your lot and your driveway length, and ask the Borough where a box may sit.
On your private property works for a move or a short renovation once the Borough has confirmed no objection. See on-site portable storage.
At our warehouse avoids the question entirely, and it is the right call for a tight lot, a long decluttering or a project with no end date. See off-site portable storage. We also serve Mantua Township and Woodbury Heights with different rules.
What belongs in the box
Typical loads are household goods, boxed papers and books, furniture and the contents of rooms being painted, floored or remodeled. Illegal items, flammables and fuel, propane, perishable food, plants and pets stay out, and there are no interior modifications. Optional packing and loading are available.Wenonah portable storage: common questions
Is there a Wenonah ordinance on portable storage containers?
We did not find an ordinance that names portable storage containers or PODs in the Borough Code. The nearest rule is the roll-off dumpster article, § 24-13 and following, which concerns waste and refuse containers. Call the Borough Office at (856) 468-5228 to confirm.
Do I need a permit for a driveway container in Wenonah?
We did not find one for portable storage on private property. Roll-off dumpsters on a highway or public property need written consent. Because the Code is silent on storage pods, a call to the Borough before delivery is the safest step.
Can I put a container on a Wenonah street?
We did not find a rule that sets a process for it. The roll-off article requires written consent from the Building Subcode Official or Zoning Officer for roll-off containers on a highway or public property, and we would not place a storage container on a street without the Borough’s say-so.
Does the roll-off ordinance apply to my pod?
It is written for waste or refuse containers, and we do not claim it covers a storage container. If the Borough says it does, the terms are written consent for up to 30 days, renewable for good cause, with reflective panels on a street.
Who handles construction and zoning questions?
The Borough’s directory lists construction code and zoning officials under an inter-local agreement with Mantua Township, reachable at (856) 468-1500. The Borough Office is at (856) 468-5228.
What if my driveway is too small?
We can keep the loaded container at our West Deptford warehouse, 1152 Crown Point Road, and bring it back when you are ready. A 16-foot (8×8) container is $150 per month.
