Portable Storage for Business

Businesses run out of room differently than households do. It is rarely a sofa — it is inventory that landed early, equipment idle between contracts, tools that have to be at a site tomorrow morning, fixtures and files displaced by a build-out. A 16-foot (8×8) container puts square footage where the work already is: behind the shop, in the yard, at the edge of the jobsite, or held at our West Deptford warehouse until the season turns.

How you use the container for a business

1. Start with how often your crew needs to open it. Call for a free estimate and tell us what you are storing, where the box should sit, and whether it is daily access or dead storage. That answer is what decides on-site versus our yard, more than anything else.
2. We deliver to your location, not to a facility. The clean, dry 16-ft (8×8) container is placed where you asked — beside the trailer, behind the store, at the site entrance. If it is a jobsite or a leased lot, clear the placement with the property owner or site manager first.
3. Your team loads it between jobs and between customers. Load at your own pace rather than shutting the operation down for a day. Nobody on your crew tows or repositions the container; Steedle does every move of the box.
4. Pack it for inventory, not for a move. Since nothing can be fitted inside the unit — no racking, shelving, hooks, drilling or wiring — work in pallets, stackable bins and labelled cases, keep an aisle to the back, put the fast-moving stock and the tools by the doors, and keep a list of what is in there so nobody opens the box to find out.
5. Keep it on-site, or have us take it. Leave it locked at the location for daily access, or we collect it and store it at 1152 Crown Point Road until you need it back. Add a second container in a busy season and take it off again when the season ends.

What belongs in the box for commercial storage

Load it with the working end of the business: jobsite tools, hand and power equipment, ladders and scaffolding boards, materials and fittings, merchandise and overstock, seasonal displays and holiday inventory, retail fixtures, shelving units and signage, office furniture and files pulled out for a build-out, trade show and booth gear, landscaping and seasonal equipment idle between contracts, and gear that is between jobs but should stay dry and locked.

Keep out of the container: anything illegal, plus flammables and fuel, propane tanks, perishable food, plants and pets — which in a commercial load means the fuel cans, the gas for the generators and small engines, the solvents and the pressurized cylinders stay with your own compliant storage, not in the box. Nothing that needs power, temperature control or a fitted rack belongs in a container either, and no interior modifications are permitted.

On-site or West Deptford for the way your work runs

Keep it on-site when the box is part of the operation: a jobsite store so tools are not loaded in and out of trucks every morning, overflow behind the shop that a manager opens daily, or a staging box for a phase of work. It stays locked at the location and your crew has it whenever they are there.

Send it to our West Deptford warehouse when the stock is asleep: post-season merchandise, equipment idle until the next contract, records and fixtures during a renovation, or the excess while you move into a larger space and the new lease has not started. We move the loaded container to 1152 Crown Point Road, West Deptford and redeliver it — to the shop, to a new location, or to a site — when you need it. A jobsite box can also come to us when that phase of the job finishes.

Optional packing and loading

Most businesses load with their own staff at their own pace, which is cheaper than overtime and fits between jobs. When you would rather not tie up the crew — a store reset with a firm reopening date, an office build-out over a weekend, or a relocation you do not want your people lifting — packing and loading are available as optional services.
